The riding position on any bike is surprisingly adjustable. The height of the seat, the angle of the handlebars, the relationship of the levers to your seating position etc. I find my sportbike more comfortable to ride than my touring bike, as the upright riding position of the handlebars on the FJ means that an old internal injury puts a lot of weight on my stomach. I have to keep a very straight back whenever I ride the FJ, which tends to stick my head up above the screen. On the sportbike, the wind pressure holds me off the bars & I don't get the wrist ache that's associated with riding long distances on something like the R1. My ideal long distance bike is the Exup. Big fairing, big tank & controls that fall easily to hand (quote from MCN).

Years ago a friend popped by on his ZZR1100 & Reg siad that he wasn't happy with the bike. I asked him if he'd adjusted the bike to suit him & he said that he rode it like it came, straight from the shop. After a few adjustments to the lever angles & brake pedal height & a quick spin around the block, he said that it was like a different bike & kept it for several years.
