Perhaps I'll skip the mains to have a number of puds instead and file a report appropriately :gpost::cake3::cake2::cake:

Why haven't I been there before? When I arrived at the bar, (I found it and was first, I'd like it noted!), my heart sank, because there were only three taps: Guinness; Stella and Lemonade. It was only after a few seconds that I realised the entire wall of the back of the bar comprised barrel ends: there were sixteen barrels of foaming loveliness awaiting the thirsty. Some were definitely 'session' beers - there was a 2.7; lots around 4.0 and even a 7.5 for those wishing to avoid the cost of a trip to Switzerland to end it all.

It was extremely regretable that I drove myself to the Halfway House. But... I know where I want to go if I am lucky enough to be a passenger!

And the food. Ah yes, the food. :D I do not need an extended period of post-prandial lucubration to determine that their food is extremely passable; I have to rely upon Brother Les for an opinion of the syrup sponge, but the sticky toffee pudding was small but perfectly shaped - came with custard - and modesty prevented me from trying the banoffee pie as well. But that's next on my 'Hit List'. There was a wide choice of mains and starters too and my sampling thereof proved entirely satisfactory. Leila: you must try the puds! (As long as I am sitting nearby) ;)

Thanks to Roadie and Shrimpee for organising (and bringing by bike) my bagfull of SECB clothing! Reminder to Lisa and Dave to take lots of pics on holiday :sun2:

Now... Back to work for me.

I must admit that I didn`t eat tonight so can`t pass comment on the taste but it did look good I must admit. Rest assured though that I will be sampling it at the next visit, assuming you guys want to return.

Gets my vote as a friendly pub, with garden & decent food. The surrounding roads looked good too. Good to see 9 made it but only one bike.
