The amber light scenario, it ISN`T illegal to go through an amber light if you cannot stop safely. Crossing the solid white to AVOID an incident also isn`t illegal.

Try telling that to the people who in the past have had points RW, like the one going through a red light very slow and pull over just past the lights to let an ambulance pass, but have got 3 points due to there being a red light camera there. It is always down to the officers point of view, he might think differently and felt you had time to stop, slow down.

Going back to the Video, everyone judges on what they see and think happened, Everyone jumps on their Soap Box say how bad it was , when I bet 99% of all drivers have done just as bad, and worse. We don't see all of the picture, that car clearly had over taken a few vehicles, maybe there was a large gap for him to get into behind the vehicle with the camera, (do we even know it was a tractor?) but the vehicles behind the camera vehicle saw him and closed the gap forcing him to pass the camera vehicle. What might have seemed ok to do at first turned clearly into a bad thing to do but who knows maybe not all of his own doing.
People Do have a habit to just follow tractors for miles and miles, with no intention to overtake even when there are plenty of clear opportunities to, the further back vehicles do so with far greater risk, but the ones in front hate it so make it hard sometimes, hence causing situations like in the video

In the case of the red light camera there wasn`t an officer there, it was down to an automated process which most probably wasn`t contested as "its easier to take the 3 points than go to court"

1 half of the sentence contradicts the other. How can you say the car clearly had overtaken a few vehicles when you have already stated that we don`t see all the picture?

It wasn`t a tractor it was an empty tanker as said by the guy who uploaded the video to youtube

This would explain why he didn`t overtake the tractor.

That`s because drivers of slow moving vehicles should pull over to let faster traffic past where it is safe to but few actually do. If more people took notice of the highway code, fewer situations like the one in the video would arise.

from the video i would be amazed if the car had overtaken a few vehicles. the last car going in the opposite way leaves view at 31 seconds and by 35 seconds the driver of the filming vehicle is already saying no no no.

The ford over taking would struggle to pass even a single car in that time let alone a tractor or tanker.

I agree there are plenty of situations where drivers not overtaking does cause others behind to go for riskier takes.
My bigger problem these days is where solid white lines and lower speed limits are appearing when there where none before, this in my view makes road more dangerous as people begin to ignore them including the older ones which may have meant something.

You can blame the stupid green party in Brighton for all the crap in that city now
