I think a re-test should be compulsory every 10 years irrespective of age, with a reducing interval as you get older.
My re-action time is significantly shorter than many people much younger than me (empirically proven :p).
I also seem to be much more aware of what's around me, maybe contributing to my re-action time?

Also, it should be three counts and you're out for new drivers. If you can't pass after three attempts then.....

well said Jimbo, i would be a bit stricter than you, every 5 years not a re-test more of an reaction-awareness test where if you do not pass then you go for a extended test, again irrespective of age!!

I was driving back from a friends party late on Saturday night & people were still forgetting to dip their headlights as I approached from the other direction. So when I put both high & low beam lights on to remind them they then start to flash me, as if to say 'i'm blinded by your lights'. Yes mate, it works both ways.

And those LED headlights are far more bright than the halogen bulbs on my car.

And what about black cab drivers going around on sidelights. The law, AFAIK, says that low beam headlights must be used even when driving in a built up area where there're streetlights.

And car drivers on one headlight.....

    AND, AND, AND....

i blew a bulb in the car yesterday , not a problem I carry spares but could I figure out how to change it. Turns out you have to take the grill off first then remove the whole light not really a job to do by the side of the road after dark when you can't see. Stupid design

"We will send a technician to recover the motor car, Sir and transport you to your destination. We will telephone you when the car is ready for delivery back to you. Of course, we'll give it a thorough valeting and a minor service while we have it. We see you last serviced it 1,000 miles ago, so we will only have to change the oil and a few 'service items' Sir. Would you like us to collect you from your destination later on? How do you like your coffee? It says here you like Cappuccino with an extra shot and one spoon of sugar - has that choice changed, Sir? Haircut? Foot massage? Oh, and we'll replace the entire spare bulb set you have in case any of them might have blown while in the padded box in your glove compartment.

The car will be ready in a week. Should we fly it to your new location? That's all included in the price we'll charge..."

Does the emptying of the ash tray get included in the service?

Only had to work until lunchtime today and left work with the sun out and dry roads. Perfect for a ride. Two miles from home it started to rain and then the wind got up and I went off the idea. Spent most of the afternoon looking hopefully out of the window but no chance of it improving. I was really looking forward to taking the bike out. I have not made up for the lost months yet. :cry2:

NO snow & NO ice = fun on a bike. Just coz you got a nice new shiny bike Tom doesn't mean you can't go out and get it dirty in the puddles and have some fun

I agree, a pain :( trouble is some of the puddles are right across the road, and dam deep, well were last night coming home, and certainly a few real heavy showers today on the cards :(
I am missing the Egg Bacon Baguette at Wessons, might have to drive down there to get one

Yeah I think if I had new tyres on it I might of headed out but I can get motivated as it's no fun on these tyres and still not being able to ride right doesn't inspire me. Plus it's pissing it down here again.

Lovely & sunny first thing this morning but luckilly I had a quick look at the forecast before leaving home & it suggested it wouldn't last so glad I took the car instead of the bike
