Nothing like hitting a big red kangaroo back home!! Hubby swerved one to miss on his old bike. Don't know what was worse swerving so bad and dropping it to miss it or copping kangaroo feet in your head?! Me, I've just hit 'em in the cars. And bloody black cows - now they do damage in the pitch black and can't see them!!

Old army mate once told me he'd just been posted to India. He was riding in front of another bike when he saw a pile of elephant dung & thought it'd be fun to ride over it & spray :poop: on his mate's face. Being new there didn't think it might have been baking in the sun & said it was like riding into a concrete bollard at 40 . Came around days later in hospital.;)

LOL... speed. Let's just say it was an enthusiastic ride. I notched up 500 miles from Glenborradale which is 50 east of Fort William in the west of Scotland , to Castle Urquart in the Great Glen, to Dingwall on the east coast, then Bonar Bridge, to the Kyle of Tongue on the north coast, to Durness where I had a break for 30 mins.

From there I headed back to the east coast at Ullapool, inland (cos there's no other way!) and then back out towards Strathcarron, back to Invergarry on the Great Glen again, then the reverse route via Fort William to Glenborradale.

Took 12 hours, on a warm and beautifully sunny (after the first hour!) day... I've got a pic from Durness somewhere... people sunbathing on the beach there, looks more like the W Indies or Australia than the far north of Scotland. I'll dig it out and post it.

With you there, although had a ride through the Ashdown forest this morning and a deer did do a kamikaze to the car in front of me.

It's nice when the council tries to cheering up your day by pointing out on a big sign that 238 deers have died into 2010 as a result of being hit by a vehicle.

Thats why I re routed the ride today off of the forest. Someone pointed out that its still rutting season. I didn`t wanna have to put my biker down! skills in use. Although some venison would have been nice ;)

Main risk is at dusk... we should have been okay yesterday. Just be aware for the rest of the month.

This is very true Hanna, however having spent a lot of time driving through the Ashdown forest for work, I can categorically say the deer don`t care about the time.
