50 miles today, including a stop to collect a nice, new. crispy MOT certificate for the Kawasaki. No advisories, so many thanks to Leila and Mikey, without who none of this would be possible :)
I might have to sleep all afternoon and recover but I really feel like myself again, at last.

Bike shopping, with my nephew :) He's a tall lad and wants an adventure style type as he finds them the most comfortable for commuting and will carry all his work tools easily, as well as a bit of touring and camping.
I've tried really hard to be objective and we had a list to work through. I had the Tracer at the top of my sensible list but he didn't find it as comfortable as I'd hoped.
Imagine my joy when he tried a Triumph Tiger and I saw his little face start beaming (he's only late twenty something). I have to say, he really did look as if it was a perfect fit. We went on to look at a few more, but it seems we're now in the market for a late, low mileage Tiger, 800 or upwards.
I had to admire anyone who wanted to take his Auntie to look at bikes and ask questions, instead of his mates :)

But you are a rather cool auntie!
Have a chat to @alexs at Motobox. He may be able to help find one.

10 months, to the day, since I last rode a bike to Rye and sat down to watch the comings and goings and meet friends for a chat.

Lovely weather, quiet roads and an official "go for it" from all the consultants who have been mending me all this time. Gotta love the NHS!

I'm planning a couple of essential trips to collect prescriptions and attend appointments. With my sense of direction I might get a few extra miles in.

Next step is to find a place to get an essential MOT done on the Street Triple. Freedom, at last :bounce:

The final step of my recovery, at last. I've been working towards this since the day after the first operation.

Today the Street Triple saw the light of day for the first time since January and sailed through it's long overdue MOT. And then I went for a lovely, lovely long ride round.
MOT man said nice things about how well it's been looked after, which was nice of him. He'd never seen one of the purple ones before, so I was able to bore him with the history of Street Triple colours before I left.

Tonight, steak and red wine for one, by way of a celebration.

It's been a very scary year but all the support I've had from people on here (you know who you are) who sent flowers and cards and visited and messaged and came to help out with stuff in the shed made it much easier to keep cheerful and work hard to get better. Thank you all so much :)

Special thanks must go to Pop Up Rob for many long distance visits during the first lockdown, risking being shot at by the neighbours and running cross country to hurl bottles of wine, Easter eggs and reading material across the dyke, into my garden. You made the worst times so much better x

And, of course, to wonderful Leila for always being there to listen, keeping me up to date with everything going on in the real world and making sure I had adventures and visits, once I was able to start getting around again. xx

It's very good to be back :)

So, so happy to hear that you are finally back on the Street Triple @Beelady. What a journey you have been on to get back to this stage and you never cease to amaze me with your resilience and positive outlook. It is definitely time to get that promised Prosecco to you and I can't wait for new adventures to begin. :D

I want to know who took the picture. And, Leila? The Police probably won't take kindly to your number plate. Nice pair of bikes, by the way. Most classy, if one may pass comment! :)

Pop Up Rob. In his own words, earlier this evening, "like the milkman, but better" :)

You have to love someone who delivers gifts of red wine and is willing to stand in the snow, after dark, for a long chat through the window.
    What a lovely surprise!
