Im gunna go the other way and say id still race there. In fact id like it known that if lorenzo or stoner dont go and yamaha or honda are left without a rider ill be more than happy to stand in for them!

in seriousness though, i think its just petty. If the research deems it safe, get racing. they wouldnt send them there if there was a real danger. I vote the race goes ahead and if your too much of a nancy to ride then youll drop some points wont you? Casey was blatantly only waiting till Jorge had decided so that he wouldt surrender excess points to his closest rival (if Lorenzo rode but Casey didnt). You cant be given a whole world of opportunity bya Japanese motorcycle firm and then refuse to ride there.

To be honest it wouldnt make much difference any way. It'd give Stoner something to blame if he ballsed up, Pedrosa's always injured anyway and as far as lorenzo's concerned Simoncelli is more dangerous than radiation poisoning!

I have a sneaking feeling that teams view their riders as just another component on the motor-bike. Sure, some are PR whizzes or PR disasters, but give the best bike to any of the top ten MotoGP riders and wouldn't they tend to come out on top? My point is that the teams will figure that they don't care what happens to their carbon-based life form component after a couple of years - and low-level radiation sickness probably won't emerge until then. Hey, there's always another young Jorge, Vale, Dani, Barry or Casey in the wings. And if their name doesn't already end with an 'ee' sound, you can sometimes add it - for instance, Freddie. This is why Colin Edwards can never be World Champion. Whoever heard of Colinee? And I reckon you'd only call him 'Colly' once... :sfight:
