Handed it in at the police station to get the points added and not had it back and that was over a month ago. How long should it take to get back and who do I contact if it doesnt make its way home: DVLA or the police?

And do check very carefully when it comes back that none of your entitlements have fallen off - I read a thread elsewhere about somebody pulled up on his bike and required to show his license - he was taken aback to find he was no longer entitled to ride a m/cycle because the induhviduals who are genetically substandard at DVLA had not seen fit to include that code on his new license. There was a danger he'd have to take his test again - after only riding for thirty years or so...

well they should only be writing onto the paper part of it, they shouldnt be touching the card with the entitlements

Ha! Can you believe it, I tracked down my licence (if you send it off for penalty points, it doesnt go anywhere near the DVLA, it goes to the Fixed Penalty Office of the county you were caught speeding in) and asked where it is. "Oh, its here in the office, would you like us to send it back to you, Ill do that today." Well thank you very much you inefficient twats!

Calm down dear:mad:, there's just too many separate/non-communicating departments in our legal system. Take it you're still not getting any?;)

I had a student who had sent his licence away for a change of address or something and it came back minus his Bike entitlement, he had to take the test again! It does happen.
