Earlier start than Mega's ride, but perhaps we can meet his ride somewhere so those who want can carry on to Bury Hill.

    Meet at 7 Diner, Polhill, TN14 7AA
Arrive whenever you want. Diner opens at 0800
    Depart 0930
No particular destination but I'll think of something.

Oooh, loving all these rideouts :D! Mind you - am not so good at making decisions .
May bump into you at Bury Hill, or pass you going in the opposite direction somewhere in the countryside, or see you elsewhere :) - or not :( . Whatever happens - have a great ride!

Wow! You lucky devil you. I went a couple of years ago (weekend pass 60 birthday present from my daughter) and really enjoyed it.

Have a great time and regards to Dave.

Please excuse my ignorance but where exactly is Bury Hill, there are a few different options that come up on Google maps.

As usual checked my bike over yesterday in prep for today's ride. All OK but, as I had my hands dirty, decided to have a look at the brake pads.

:eek::eek::eek::eek: They were, how shall I put this, a bit thin:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:.
Where do I get replacement pads for a ZZR1400 late on a Saturday?
No luck anywhere close! Except a source only 5 miles away :).

Thank you NinjaBob . Your part worn pads had about 10 times the thickness of mine .
All installed and ready to ride. Wahoo. Gratis too, bonus. I owe you at least a tea.

    Thanks, thanks, thanks.

Well sorry we didnt see anyone else on our ride but boy what a ride

Fantastic pace and some really great roads...Even the closed roads didnt stop our Jimbo ;)

Thanks for leading Jimbo and to Tomasbe and AlexS for good company..

I do love a Jimbo Mystery tour....Always a cracking ride

The new stead is running nicely...I still have to get completely used to her but everytime I ride her I'm getting more and more confident...

I enjoyed that :). Thanks for the company Neil, Alex and Tomas. Quite a good mix of roads, but have to agree with you Neil, some of the 30 and 40 "link" roads were a bit . Must remember to cut those out in future. You seem to be gelling with the new steed nicely Neil .

Sorry we didn't meet up with anyone but, as Alex said, we were slightly ahead of the other rides. We did some of your route Alan, albeit in the opposite direction. I'm not surprised you hit some traffic, the Shoreham Air Show was on!

There is no such thing as a closed road to a motorcycle! Simply ride over the mounds of earth, gravel etc if they are there :D. The only real obstacle would be a deep trench across the width of the road, and they tend not to do that so they can access the site from both directions.Took a gamble though as it would have been quite a long way to back-track.

See you all Wednesday evening then! ;)

Grrrreat ride with a good bunch:rofl: . Jimbo, as always, tried to shake me off his Mystery Tour train ;). Loads of two-wheeled Lycra people for my liking and at times I felt like camera bike without camera on Tour de France.
Very enjoyable day. Just a mental note to myself: I need a new steed, I need a new steed, I need a new steed, I need a new steed, I need a new steed, I need a new steed ....

Brill to know that everyone had a good day out and everyone got home unscathed whichever the group or whatever roads they took (or non-roads in Jimbo's case lol)!! :D
