That on 2 separate incidences with in a few days 2 motorcyclists died in Maresfield, one a local Uckfield Girl, only a 100's of yards apart.

Not Good really, not too sure of the details, as not a lot has been published.

Pretty sure the Girl one was related to road conditions, and wet leaves Friday morning, and possible hit by a car after falling off.

The other one on School hill, there is traffic calming system, give way system around bollards. Ever since it has been put there, numerous accidents have occurred

Still having such bad incidents so close together is not good

Agreed it's not been a good few days.

I know the young girl is believed to have been hit by a car that failed to stop after she came off the bike. I've not heard about the other one yet.

it never is good when a person passes away in these circumstances. the driver of the car that possibly hit the girl hasnt come forward as of yet according to the bbc news. how can you not know that youve hit someone.she was only 30 too thats no age at all. my thoughts are with her family and friends.

Theres nothing on the sussex police media section about the one at school hill.

Unfortunately, if it was a LGV, very easily I`m afraid :( Even in a car, with the state of the roads in some places & the amount of roadkill that`s on some roads.

You wouldn`t believe the amount of unobservant drivers I see most mornings, racing for the station/office, coffee in hand that don`t see large white vehicles with lights on.

I think you would have to still be blind not to see a bike or rider that would have been in front of you and then vanish. I look back to see the size of the pothole etc if I catch one so would think a driver would too. the police said they believe it was a car rather than lorry ( a lorry I can nearly understand. )

Trouble is those traffic calming bollards get treated as little more than a chicane at a race track, malso the crap state of the roads and lack of attention makes them more dangerous than they should be

Don't you hate it when Goggle does that.

We heard from a couple of the Firebike team today that a biker had a tree hit them yesterday or early today breaking both their legs  But that could have been someone walking or cycling just one of those freak things.

Assuming it was a car that was immediately following though. A vast majority of bike gear is black & if the bike had slid off the road you may not see it. This is, of course all speculation & the chances are we or the police will never know the full story.

I did wonder if if that`s the one you meant. We all make mistakes, especially when we get to a certain age ;) Both you & Conrad are correct about the traffic calming there though. Most drivers see they have right of way at the first one & assume it means it applies to all 3 rather than actually READ each sign at each island or notice the "Give way" markings either. I also don`t understand why the one at the bottom of the hill is so far from the others. If they are to "Calm" the traffic, surely making that one a bit closer to the other 2 would be more effective?
