    Biker's dying wish fulfilled

Carl and Daryl with Fastlane's R1
CARL ROBSON was diagnosed with terminal cancer in December 2012. Given 6 months to live, his last wish was to share a track weekend with best friend Daryl.
With a weekend booked at Cartagena in Spain, it looked as though Carl's wish might come true - until Daryl's motorbike was stolen. Despite being recovered, it was nowhere near track-ready. With no bikes avaliable for hire at that notice, the project looked in jeopardy.
Step in Jamie, Justin and Stuart from repairers Fast Lane Motorcycles in Tonbridge, Kent (who also make up Phased Out Racing, 2012 winners of the 'No Budget' cup), who when they realised the bike would not be ready in time, gave total strangers Carl and Daryl the use of their racing-ready, championship-winning Yamaha R1, free of charge, spares and repairs provided so that Carl could complete his final wish.
Carl says: 'I would like to point out that these guys don’t know myself or Daryl from Adam! Yet, they have lent us their race prepared, race ready championship bike – their pride and joy R1. They have fully serviced it and supplied it with new tyres; spare tyres on rims; wets on rims; sundries and spares – just in case anything happened or it got dropped in Spain. In which case, we could repair and carry on. Its unbelievable, I know – it still doesn’t seem real.'
We thought a story of such heart-warming generosity deserved exposure, Carl's story here.
Last week Carl and Daryl successfully completed their track weekend. Hope it was a good one chaps!

good on them, big risk too i am giving a bike to someone who knows he is going to die is more dangerous than giving a bike to someone who can't be killed. :D I hope the guys enjoyed thier weekend.

i was down fastlane the other day and mentioned the publicity and as they said they are a bit embarrased by all the publicity as that is not why Jamie lent the bike out.
they done a good turn out of the goodness of their hearts.
they fixed mikes gear lever for free

I echo all the positive comments above. It was reTwitted at me a week or so ago by Steve Parrish who'd been asked by the family to give some publicity to the 3 very decent guys who run the shop. They do seem to be pretty straightforward and honest and have had their own share of serious illness to cope with (both Jamie and Justin).
