A day a Megawatts

I had a little trip to Megawatts today to have a linkpipe made for the gixxer. I turned up half hour late after getting lost. after getting the bike on a paddock stand we set to work, first off came the fairings and then the pipes.Then out came Mega with angle grinder in hand and off came the cat all 11lb of it.

A lucky break at the welders got the sleave attached to the headers.when we started making the link pipe from pipe Mega had in the shed (or aladdins cave of bike bits) our second lucky break of the day. after trial and error and much tinkering we had made the link pipe which we both were happy with.

Then came the important bit the test fire and when I say test fire my god that man is a fecking genius we both just started grinning.it louder than anything I've heard in a very long time and that was at only 5,000 rpm so I'm looking forward to the noise at more.Mega has taken some pics and a sound recording of the bike so you can all see and hopefully hear the bike.

When I say we Its more of a royal we mega did the work and I just held the pipe and looked pretty

I'm looking forward to the vid cos trying to describe the sound to the father-in-law was very difficult.I stopped at ear bleeding loud and makes you grin.

Had the two angled pipes welded yesterday. Made the final sleeves and clamps today and dropped them off for welding this p.m.. Should be able to pick em up and bolt everything up tomorrow. Nick, I don't have your moby number???

No need on a Gixer

the ECUs are re-mapable, much more efficiently than a power comander, you can re-map all 8 injectors (PC only remaps 4) and by smaller RPM increments than the PC

 

You got the gear? I'm fairly handy with TIG. It's like gas welding but you get a better sun tan!
