Well it was bound to happened - first accident ever. Car turned in front of me when filtering this morning on way home after night shift. She states she had a blinker on! My arse!! I don't tend to overtake people turning!!! Even though she cleaned me up, I bounced off her, and managed to hold Gus up and stop without dropping him with only one arm and one leg!

Ambulance, police and 6 hours later an amazing save with leather (thank you leathers). 6 hours sitting in my own A&E with colleagues caring for you is fun (accident only 100 m from work entrance). Managed to score many sprains/strains to left side upper body from being slammed by her side mirror and a displaced fractured finger requiring surgery, 6 weeks off work and no biking for longer :(

Now to play insurance game as it's he said, she said. No one fucking bothered to stop. Gotta love that I changed insurance companies only 2 days ago :(

    Photos to come :(

Hey, glad you're (sort of ok) but whoever Gus is, you best not tell the insurance co you were holding onto him while riding a bike.;)

Sorry to hear about your off today, she probably did have her 'blinkers' on....just a shame they were the type horses wear!
Good luck getting your finger sorted, hope all well soon.

Glad you are not too badly injured Rachelle.

Just because she was indicating it doesn`t mean A) you could see it, especially is the car behind had moved up tight to hers & B) Its still her responsibility to check her mirrors before making the turn.

shame you had a bump, glad your ok,

as Roady says she should still have checked it safe to turn before doing so. so indicators on or off makes little differance

Oh no! Hope you make a quick recovery and get to get out and enjoy the bike in the not too distant future. In the meantime will keep fingers crossed that insurance doesn't play silly buggers!!

That is an impressively delicate fracture!
I was going for something petite like that, just don't have the finenesse apparently.

Bike is safe, priorities first
