    Hi Lammy - did you sort that 'lumpiness' in your engine? If so, what was it? Airbox?

    Problem still not sorted. Airbox and spark plugs have been changed and its still bogging down at 8,000 rpm. Reckon they fuelling isn't right? Think I'll have to take it back to the guy who balanced the carbs in the first place and see if he can sort it seeing as it only got worse after he'd had it!

    Lammy, does it rev freely in neutral and only bog down when under load; can you ride through the boggy patch?

    Does the R6 have ram air on it; I would assume so...tis worth checking the piping around the airbox/carbs, as anything disconnected will kill performance under load and cause bogging down etc. :thumbsup:

    Ducky - no, her bike is lumpy even on idle. Lammy was concerned that it doesn't clear and affects performance under load. It could also possibly be a partially blocked fuel filter too. However, getting the carbs re-balanced seems logical if the problem arose after the guy fiddled with it.

    It seems to choke when you hit around 8,000 which is normally where the power kicks in again. It idles ok although the other day it revved to 4,000 while I was waiting at the lights and hadn't touched the throttle :eek:. However as Fergy pointed out at the time, maybe the bike was getting impatient and just wanted to go lol! Will see mechanic this week and try sort it out. Will also check fuel filter and if there is more air than should be getting in. Thanks for all your tips guys. Much appreciated!

    sorry i never caught you guys up today, i was running late so treated my self to a blast to rye 7 police cars and a speed trap :thumbsdown: then back home before heading to Leilas and from there to lewis and back, the roads were nice and empty tonight and the full moon gave enough light that it was possible to have some fun :D

    Is the Exup valve working ok? I understand these things tend to gum up...

    Unbalanced carbs won't cause a loss of power par sé, only poor response / idle. A massive loss of power at 8k would indicate fueling itself or the ratio of fuel / air.

    It's almost impossible to balance carbs wrong, even doing it by ear. Rather than repeat myself (should of saved the message the first 6 times I told you), ditch the so called mechanic, get your money back and take it to someone with half a brain.
    Setting the fueling and checking the intake system works is an easy task as is balancing the carbs once you have a good mix.

    A RR session would be ideal though, I'm sure I saw an xmas special going on at HMR didn't I?

    Oh yeah, here it is!

    I am sure the revs increased when you bounced up and down on the bike whilst stationery too?????

    2 possibilities;

    1) Whatever the cause it's alieviated by reduced load / movement of the bike.

    2) Good excuse to make Leila bounce up and down. I heard the best way to test is to reduce the rider weight as much as possible, bikini's are lighter than leathers, right? :rofl:
