    Nor does it help that some bikes have lights which can appear to be a car much further away rather than a bike up close .
    Was it MCN that did a test with various people all asked to judge the speed of a couple of motorbikes, one sports tourer and one load sports bike. While most estimated the sports bike fast than the tourer all thought both bikes were going slower than they were. Which was another reason why people may pull out in front of them. Could be related to depth perception in those who were wildly out and lack of experience as I think the policeman who was tested got closest.
