JohnA and I are meeting at The Rose & Crown, Green Street Green, Orpington, at 1530 for a bit of saunter.
We both need to be back about 1800-1830, so we should make the best of the weather, which will be :sun1:.
John is leading, well, his sat nav is.

Everyone is very welcome, although I know most are wage slaves.
But you may be like me and start/finish early.

Unless something major comes up of course!

There are a few in the area, including Sidcup and New Eltham etc, mainly sports/sports tourers.
Season is drawing to a close now but there will be a few runs over the winter.

Best way to find out if the rides suite you is to attend. You'd be welcome.

    thanks for the offer.
i have always felt that riding with sports bikes is holding them back somewhat. as i saw someone say recently on a cruiser site - "the others hardly got out of second gear and had to weave about to keep their tyre's warm". ok, i know its not as bad as that so i will keep my eyes open .......

With second man drop off no one gets left behind... Not even a cruiser!

From what I've seen, even with KTFU nobody should be left behind, regular regroupings see to that.
These regroupings happen usually at 30mph zones and/or sharp turns.
In my view it would be dangerous for anyone to think they'd be left behind, since they'd be tempted to push themselves beyond their comfort zone and that's when risk rises sharply.
For example, I choose to ride at 70% of my abilities, others have higher abilities and furthermore ride at 90% of that. The ride leader is supposed to merge these two without leaving anyone feeling short-changed, tricky balance but I've seen it work!

Although i'm from Dartford I regularly meet others at various convenient places, as a few on here will know.

:hah::hah: Regimented nope we try not to lose anyone and sometimes we even get to where we said we were going. ktfu is keep the f**k up. Unless regimented is another word for chaos  then i would say that is one thing the rides on here aren't

In my memory (fast receding now) I never got lost and the second man drop off system was/is excellent. I may be a little inaccurate in one of these statements. I'm sorry if anyone found SECB too regulated, though. It has some necessary structure, but seems pretty relaxed to me. Perhaps I'm too tightly wrapped?

I enjoyed my ride out with some of you last year. I didn't get lost and I'm famous for going AWOL. Regimented is not the word that comes to mind :)
