no idea yet. I think I can pick a date so will see if I can get a day off of work for it. Not sure I can face a busy day on the weekend.

The only such texts I get are from my bank telling me the extent to which they bank with me causes them discomfort. It's comparable, I suppose, but not so easily fixed!

I have incorporated my new company today.
With a few other poor sods, I got made redundant in October. I hate computers and I.T. and particularly working for big corporations and all the b******s they chuck at you so after a few weeks of soul searching I decided I.T. can go and do one!!!!
Getting in to flooring, carpets, vinyls and laminates with my best mate for both domestic and commercial operating in the south east and London. So if anyone wants flooring sorted just holla.

He has been in the industry for 25 years, knows it inside out and always wanted to have his own company and so today we have taken the first step:whoo:.

He will be in charge of the fitting and fitters and I will be running the actual business, doing the measuring, quoting and generally making sure we don't go skint

Lots of hard work ahead but very exciting times. Will start actually trading in January so have around 6 weeks to get things sorted. Head has been spinning for weeks and no better today as it has been a MASSIVE learning curve with what I/we have to do to get a business off the ground but I am getting there - I hope.

Hopefully next year I will be buying myself a Suzuki RG500 as a well done for all the crap I have had to endure over the past few years so I have something to help focus me :hah:.

Own business must be viewed as a one-way ticket. Otherwise it won't work. Very best of luck, though. How will you win new work? (Other than from site members)? :)

My mate has so many contacts and is always very busy and is also very well known in the industry so that in itself helps but will be using new and old methods.
Leaflet drops, advertising in paper based publications such as The Net, the various magazines dropped through your door for the local area, website, social media, good old sign written van etc etc.
Also will get in with insurance companies, estate agents, builders. The list goes on.

Best of luck, Paul. You're a hard worker and I know you'll put every possible effort into it.

I have a few quid coming my way sometime next year. New carpets upstairs are near the top of my list. As long as I don't get distracted by another bike. How many bikes do I need to get away with calling myself a collecter, rather then just having a bit of a weakness for Triumphs?

Seeing a sign in the back of a car that reminded of a conversation I had the other evening with couple of people (you know who you are) and it read 'I'm not lost, I'm just exploring' :)

To be precise it is what made me smile last Thursday.
A few may have read or know that am in the process of forming a new flooring company which is ready to trade at the beginning of January and as such I got one of our vans sign written.

All my own design and I am damned proud of it. Next van gets done next month.
