I was really struggling to ride this morning, sliding all over the place. As it was 7.10 am and wet roads I put it down to just being a greasy morning. Riding back from work to hastings I was still having issues and put it down to an off day.

When I got to Hastings Lammy noticed what looked like oil on my boot  on closer inspection it was brake fluid and not just on my boot but all over the front tyre :( I have blown a seal somewhere.

Still went and swapped bikes and realised that I can still ride :D

That must have been unnerving. Someone once turned my Scottoiler up while the bike was in a car park . First I knew of it was a massive slip once it had generously oiled the rear tyre.
    Glad you stayed upright.

losing my car keys this morning. Over an hour spent turning the house upside down and no luck

In the end i had to jump on the bike to come to work again which having ridden for over 5 hours yesterday and 7 the day before in crap weather i wasn't really looking forward too.

But you ended up enjoying it - so what's the beef? Oh yes: the keys are still missing. They cannot be far. Go to where you last put them down and there they will be. Would you like help? We can hold a seance tomorrow night...

Where i last put them down, checked there and no sign. As Sherlock would say once you have ruled out the possible then look at the impossible. Turned out they never got put down and somehow survived a trip to Jim G's place and back in a pocket that does seal / zip. I had forgotten about a sudden rush on Sunday morning to leave but first grabbing my car sat nav to adapt to work on lammy's bike. In the rush the keys never found their way back into the house but instead just a side pocket on my jacket where once at work they turned up.

I was just about to start priming a new bumper and then noticed crazing along part of it, probably happened during shipping.

Priming on hold while I traced, tapped and glassed it all. :bhead:

Got home tonight to find an email from the Brighton dealer who has been holding my replacement bike since April (against a substantial deposit, I might add). Although I've been keeping him updated with 'progress' towards my insurance claim (for the machine which was Clio-ed on March the 9th at 13:15hrs), and the latest is that I've just been examined for extent of damage and effect upon my quality of life, nevertheless, they couldn't hold their nerve any longer and have sold the bike to someone else. To add salt to the wound, they sold apparently at a lower price than I had agreed to pay.

I guess to them it's business, but they still have a four figure deposit from me, the purpose of which was to secure the machine I wanted - that's why it was a larger-than-normal deposit. "Good luck with finding another" was the man's parting comment.

Not happy. Guess I have to be sanguine about it and realise they were doing me a favour holding it for six months anyway.

That is pants  but your right holding a bike for 6 months was pretty good of the dealer, if only insurance companies could pull out their fingers and get the job done that they are paid to do.
