World Wide Relay Riders

So I while ago I joined this:

Charlie Bear has covered quite a few countries and, around the 29th Oct, he will be coming to England from Germany. I have been asked to be the first leg of his UK journey.

I figured that when he arrives it would be fun to organise a rideout, get some good photos and videos (I may take him for a bit of sight-seeing lol. He's come from the States so gotta see a castle or two ).

I will also find out where I have to take him next - it may be Weymouth way and if so, I reckon a cream tea would be a must @JimG .

Will keep you all posted but if you fancy joining in - the more the merrier I reckon!

It may not be. Most people seem to have Charlie Bear over a few days. I reckon handover will have to take place at a weekend to suit whoever is the next link in his journey. That way, any main rideout is bound to be a Sat or Sun and I will have him for a few days before that to go sight-seeing lol. (I can't believe I am taking a stuffed bear sight-seeing! )

So it now appears CB will be arriving on the 1st November. I then have to get him to Weymouth within the next few days. Will get in touch with the next person there and then I will have a better idea of when she's available to meet.
The proposed route by the organisers looks like this:

 

where do you have to collect him from ? looks like Newhaven ? and take him to Bournemouth ?

 

He's being mailed to me I believe. So far main link is in Weymouth unless we hear from the one in Bournemouth. Still, tis en route to Jim so may have to visit their new pad lol.

 

Now as this is a weekend, assuming nothing pops up in the meantime, Sue & I would be up for a jaunt out. Especially if it means a visit to see what Jim is REALLY like first thing in the morning

 

So Charlie Bear is on his way. Apparently he was posted today and should arrive by Thursday. Fingers crossed! Then I can put together some events for the weekend lol.

Saturday is looking to be quite a nice day according to the Met Office

 

Yup Saturday looks good for taking in local biker cafes and a few sights. We definitely need Battle Abbey, maybe fish and chips lol and a castle even lol. Plus of course Rye and Wessons.

Will see if can plan a circular route that could do over the day. Then Sunday I will ride to Weymouth to hand him over. Maybe then head to JimG's for the night - if they still have space .

 

Just remember it's the bonfire at battle that day / night so might be interesting getting the pictures there.
