oh what also made me smile today.......a diagnosis of a chest infection by my doctor ......ok i can almost hear you all asking why that made me smile.....i shall elaborate.
Been feeling a bit off lately and so eventually decided i should see my doc...struggled for a week to get an appointment and so opted to go to the local walk in centre, ....after a brisk listen to the ol lungs and heart and a quick blow into a peak flow meter and suddenly i was diagnosed as having COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) given a prescription for 2 inhalers and sent packing ...job done ....neeeeeeeeeeeext....walked away in shock:eek: and feeling somewhat dazed .....:think2::think2::think2:....got home and did a bit of research into the desease and boy is the internet dangerous, apparently this doctor had just written me off :wave2::wave2::wave2:.....NO ...hang on ....i felt a bit off ....a bit breathless .....im not F*cking dying....:stomp:....and so i call and finally...FINALLY...get an appointment with my own doctor ....i made no mention of my visit to the walk in centre and left him to draw his own conclusions, after doing the usual stethascope things , lungs , heart, chest etc he ordered an x ray of my chest and lungs, ok that seemed a bit more investigative ( is that a word?) and when i came clean as to my wealk in visit and the diagnosis and what had been done to come to the diagnosis he simply smiles and says ...COPD cannot be diagnosed using any of those methods :whew: .........so off i trot to the local hospital and get the x ray done and am told itll take about a week then i should contact my doctor ...that was monday.....recieved a phone call today from my doctor telling me the x rays have arrived i have a chest infection and he has prescibed some anti biotics which i should take and book an appointment once ive completed the course. And so, ive gone from gods waiting room to skipping along lifes highway once again in a matter of days all thanks to some " couldnt be asked" and just wanted to get as many extra patients through the door doctor :rtfm2:.

Well, it's Wednesday and my whole being was expecting an evening ride.
I could feel the onset of "cold turkey", and just couldn't resist!

NinjaBob decided he'd rather stay at work than accompany me, so out I went on my own at 4 o'clock.
(I did a 13 hour day yesterday, so I felt justified leaving on time.)

What with the weather and some of the roads I used I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.
    Perfick. :)

The bike passed it's mot with flying colours :) well after half an hour of trying to fix the indicators which decided to stop working on the way there.

Me discovering that I am not completely mad. Well...I am...but not when it comes to knowing something is wrong with my bike :).
Turns out my feeling that the rear shock wasn't right - was right. Found out from guys at Groombridges today that they way they lower the Divi is to put a chunky washer at the top of the shock to compress the spring. Ok, hmmm, well that didn't seem to explain the problems I had. Until I took the seat off the bike to see exactly where the washer was - only to find that a chunk of the washer has snapped off including part of the lip that keeps the spring compressed. So, hopefully all I need to do is replace the washer (rather than the whole shock!) and fingers crossed the problem will be solved. :D

Wife buying me one of those little 'taster' bottles of merlot (which won't last long as its only one glass) and then finding a whole full sized bottle of merlot in the kitchen I had forgotten about! RESULT :) :)

Football, this time my younger son. My eldest boy always gets the glory and last season my younger boy had his confidence crushed by the team he played for - note "played" and not plays for!!!

New managers took over his team and they favoured their own sons and relatives sons that happened to play for the team. My now ten year old boy was getting sidelined every match, he only played two full games in a full season. The managers even created a spreadsheet before the season had started of who would be subbed in what match, irrespective of how well they were playing - just a pair of complete pratts.

Decided to pull him out of the team as it was killing his confidence. Would rather he not play than be subject to this. In fact four other parents did the same with their kids!!!

So, we chose a new team after he had trials there. Spoke to their managers and coaches and explained that he is a good little player but has no confidence now. They promised that he would be fine with them and they would help build his confidence back up and make him feel a valued member of the team.

So, four games in and WOW, these guys have turned him round. Confidence back which has had a positive effect in more than just his football life :disco:.

They make him feel like he contributes, they only focus on positives and he loves it there. Scored a hat-trick in his first game for them, then a goal in each of the following two games and yesterday banged in four goals!!!!

Just shows that if you don't scream and shout at your players, give them respect and praise then they will flourish.
Oh, and the opposition manager yesterday just screamed negative comments at his under 11 players yesterday , disgusting to watch and he wonders why his team got hammered 8-2.

Sometimes it's hard for a younger child to feel confident, especially when the older one is so talented. How nice to see people are making an effort to get the best out of him, and to see him really responding to the praise. You made the right choice for him.

I bought my dream bike. The one I always, always wanted. :mdance::mdance::mdance:

Totally unsuitable, quite impractical and rather expensive.

But my heart beats faster every time I see or hear one, and now I have one of my very own.

I'm keeping my Street Triple as that's my everyday transport, but for high days and holidays I now have a beautiful, beautiful 2007 Daytona. It's the matt grey one.

Somebody pinch me. I can't believe it's really happened!
