Sounds like the same experience the folks had at Blue Boys. I do hope these closures are not developing into a trend, like the reported closure of several independently-owned 'locals' each day.

I think any establishment that caters for the motorcycling fraternity and closes its doors for the last time is a loss, its just enforcing the stigma that most general public have a negative view on motorcyclists as hooligans

It has to be one of the worse places, been there a few times, huge queues horrible food, no where to sit.
Would not say that the General public have a negative view now on motorcyclists, or as hooligans no more than any other fraternity, like cyclists, even car drivers. Bad apples in every group.
It was just one place I would rather not go.

Biggest problem with Loomies is that being on the junction of 2 quite major roads, it got busy. When places get busy the queues naturally get longer. Look at the queues at the 1066 last Sunday for a start & Wessons most weekends. Admittedly, most of the times I`ve been to Loomies were NOT at weekends so there were no queues & the car park was reasonably empty. As Carnage said, it was a place that welcomed bikers & those places are disappearing fast.

oh you do make me laugh :hah: they cant even fry a chip, even uncle Ronald McDonald manages to train their staff to do that simple task

and they used to give you free coffee, cause nobody would pay for another cup of that luke warm, insipid liquid

Ive never heard of any of them!
Always a shame when a small business goes belly up though - regardless of whether it appeals to everyone or not.

it is a bit of a shame, as any where I know the way too is rare. Yeah the food was crap and service shit but it seems us bikers like that as I can't think of many places that are really that good that we go too often. Most of the time we go for the other bikes and bikers or even the roads around the place.

Hopefully someone will see it's potential and snap up the lease and then do good food quickly :D

What a shame. I love going to Loomies. Not really for the food, although I've had a few nice meals there, but I do enjoy the ride there and back and often meet up there with friends from other forums.

Must get another visit in before it closes.

Always a shame to see someone's business and livelihood go to the wall, especially over a lease.
I never found it that disappointing when I've been there, but maybe I'm easily pleased.

As already said, we need these places as meeting points and destinations. :(

maybe it's the curse of sporty's café map. As there are at least 4 places on there now closed

The Kiln Café, willow café, Blue Boys and now Loomies

There could be more I can only remember a few from there.

We need to invade more Garden shop Cafes :) Big Car parks, lovely smelling surroundings, good food, and quite often waitress service :)

Loomies is a great place to meet up, they are always friendly and the queues are no worse than many popular places. I have heard of other cafés that may go the same way, with leases not being renewed or put up so much that they are no longer affordable.

food wise pretty mediocre there to be honest but then a lot of the cafés these days seem to be cutting costs and the food quality and service has taken a bit of a nosedive but sad to see any gathering place closing down, especially ones situated near biking routes. to be honest ive only ever used loomies when on the way to a destination westward rather than a general ridout, but seemed alright as a general "greasy spoon"
