This is just a gauge to see who might be interested. Subject to me getting my dog looked after for the day, I may try n head off to France for a few hours. Thinking about the coastal road to Le Touquet and then St Omer… or vice versa.

Train is £17 there and Ferry is £17 back. I would take the train back too, but there are no slots.

    This is just a maybe….

Ferries are 08.45- getting there 11.15, if you go any later you won't get a whole day ride. Cos you're back on ferry at 17.15, next one is 19.50.

There is an 1800 with dfds, not going to ride all day nonstop. My arse will need a break. I think at the moment it looks like 4.5hrs riding. So depends on down time for lunch n walking about. May go slightly earlier, but will still train it there to save time.

It's about 1.45 to 2hrs from mine to Folkestone, and like I said, don't want to get up at stupid o'clock.

Still looking for a dog sitter...lol

Right, decided to postpone this...as its a bit too rushed. Will put up new definite dates shortly, at least got a few interested responses :)

I am up for it as long as doesn't clash with a trackday lol. Also thinking of a baccy run to Belgium - lunch in Bruges - towards the end of next week.

Yep! The problem is the mad August rush has filled the ferries and tunnel with grokels. Give it another 2 weeks and they'll all be back home.
    Quiet roads and empty ferries.

We may be interested in a run to the continent (with a wee shopping trip for some smokes & drink) in September but def not gonna make one in August as the calendars to full :(
