ohhh for a 10 minute journey to work.......standard is leave at 8-30 -9pm .....3- 4 hrs each way for me :cry2: occasionally lucky to get an hour and a half and tonight matthew i shall be doing the first leg in an estimated 2+ hrs commencing at 10pm followed by a further 45 minutes before a 2hr 45 minute drive home not to mention any work i have to actually do inbetween driving. not hard to see why i dont commit to midweek rides

Walk out my front door at 6.45am Jimbo, long old day but it pays the bills.

lol ...sleep pattern is certainly entertaining with monday - thursday being nights and then fri - sunday being days ....sleep can be anything between 4hrs and 8 hrs but generally 5 is about the norm as the body is in a constant state of confusion as to when it should be sleeping and the varying amounts of work and driving never give a pre determined time of arrival in bed so its a case of sleep when i can and make the most of it, can wake up anytime from 8am round to 2pm depending on fatigue and time of entry to bed and then on a friday morning when i get home i try to restrict myself to about 2 hrs sleep and then push through to around 10.30 - 11pm friday night to ensure i sleep at night....sometimes it works other times the body just seems to think i should be awake and wont let me sleep till about 3am saturday morning, hence sometimes im just not in the right frame of mind to be on weekend ride outs either.
some would say its a blessing driving around at night avoiding the traffic but you'd be surprised how many road works and diversion we have to take some nights adding yet more time to the journey.

I was delayed a bit by road north of Edenbridge, Quarry Hill being closed, was 4 mins late and missed you. I had a fun ride on the courtesy bike - even though its a Honda :)

Great as usual Jim - peeps really must give these a go - they won't be dissapointed.

Cannot understand the lure for going out on Sundays at 11:00am when the Constabulary know you are going to be out enjoying yourselves in all that traffic.

Wednesday nights - you know it makes sense!

About 100 miles - not a bad effort!

So sorry you missed us :( but glad you had a fun ride. I'm a bit of a stickler for leaving on time. I find if you don't then peeps start to think 10 minutes leeway is the norm, then it turns into 20 minutes, and so on. Always next week .

Thanks for the company Bob, and for the après ride beer. Perfect length/timing resulting in pub being reached just as it was getting dark. Beautiful sunset over Ashdown Forest, bit nippy after that though :brr:.
