The owners of my house left loads of crap behind in the garage, including a girls mountain bike.

I have been meaning to chuck it for ages and as I have a loan car I have been taking care of getting rid of all my garden waste and bulky rubbish :hah:. Dragged the bike out today to take it to the tip and bloomin hell, the thing is in brand new condition. Fixed a puncture, adjusted the front brake and gave it a clean and it is mint, far too good to dump.

So, ten minutes ago my best mates two boys came over to wheel it home for their 15 year old sister. She will be made up with the bike and I feel great that I could give something that is perfect to someone who will appreciate and look after it :disco:

Had to do a funeral service interview yesterday in deepest darkest Sheerness. Sunny, even warm, on me own, (Reet working) Bike!
Had a great storming ride for 70 miles down all the backroads to Sheerness, make the gloomy place sparkle with interest as I zoomed down the dirty ole high st.
Great day for Biking and all the roads were reasonably clear, good way to use a tank full of petrol, a 140 miles of blatting.

My next door neighbours daughter managed to smash her ipad mini. Somehow it got jammed in the mechanism of a reclining chair, was bent, dented and the screen was utterly destroyed. She was very upset that it was ruined.

So yesterday, I managed to spend some time straightening it and replaced the screen digitiser. Was awesome to see her smile as I handed it over looking spot on again :whoo:

Have promised to fix her ipod and laptop as well now.

I always believe that you should try to help others if it is in your power to do so as you never know when you might need to be the recipient of a little luck or help yourself. Been a good week for the old karma so far:bounce:

Woo hoo.... good news, the Blade is fixed and she is coming back on Thursday morning. Bob Minion Honda in Derby charged me what I can only say is a very fair price for the work done... £265 (inc over £100 of parts) and that includes collection and delivery. Seems they also steam cleaned her in the process. Nice one lads!

Another fireblade owner smiling as yesterday my blade passed its MOT with no issues other than an advisory for its front tyre which is nearing its limit. In fact the MOT dude said how immaculate and perfect it was - happy days:disco:

Getting a few familiarisation miles in today with the missus on the zzr ...quick trip to ashford then onto dover , a quick visit to the castle and war rooms then a bit of a blat home. Handleing is better since cleaning up the suspenders but the low end fuellimg is still a bit ragety ...got a set of vacumm gauges on order so will balance and tweek em a bit more and see if I can get them any better, also got a mate lined up to help re shim the valves which assuming they are out will also help make a difference. But still smiling.

amazingly speaking of the vacuum gauges and hey presto they turned up yesterday so off came the tank etc and hmmmm theres something missing ....a screw out of one of the intake pipes is missing...well that wont help the idleing lol...gauges attached and after a little bit of fettling here and there all 4 carbs are balanced as near damn perfect as they can be and the tick over seems more stable now, so just them pesky valves to reshim and she should be tickety boo, but they WILL have to wait for a few weeks.

Add to that ...went into halfrauds today and picked up a gunsons colortune marked at £35...get to counter and "thatll be £10 sir ....result...get home and decide to check my previous days fettling and whaddya know ...damn near perfect ....the end is drawing nigh and just got the valves to check and possibly re shim. But for now...i got a zzr thats a lot happier and rideable.

I got up early and had my bike washed, polished and covered up before the rain started. Well worth the effort.

And this afternoon, just as the sun returned, Accessengineer found the first swarm of the season. We didn't get it, as the bees holed up in a tree where I couldn't find a good point to smoke them upwards, but I have three empty hives waiting and my bait hive has had plenty of little, furry, flying visitors during the afternoon. It makes a beekeepers heart beat a lot faster when there is hope of increasing the stock.

And tomorrow it's the bike show and autojumble at Ashford market. Often pick up lots of useful stuff and always see lots of people I know to chat too. If it's dry there should be time afterwards for a good ride to find tea and buns somewhere as well. I do love weekends.:)
