Sorry to the owners and to everyone else, we did intend making a rare appearance for this however ended up on a mercy mission for a friend in camber who,s whole house decided it didnt like electrics and shut down in a strop, so we jumped on the ZZR and went there with a few tools and got em sorted.
The ride back at 1am was interesting ....now know the headlight on the zzr is about as much use as an underwater hairdryer, which made the camber bends just little bit less appealing and to add to that as we were approaching junction 8 on the M20 traveling at a tad ( no honest ) more than the national limit (ok 90) i noticed a car approaching from behind and coulda swore i saw blue lights in the grill between his headlights momentarily, eased off a bit and passed came an audi estate which promptly displayed "follow me" in its rear window ....OH SH*T......well luckily for me i met 2 of the nicest coppers ive met for a while and it turns out i had no illumination on the rear of the bike....EH????...took a peek and ...nope he was right ....turned the ignition off and back on and hey presto lights ...explained where we had been and where we were going and they told us to stop looking so worried as it was Friday and they had no intention of prosecuting so close to the end of their shift lol. we were sent on our way and i spent the rest of the journey home constantly looking over my shoulder to make sure i could see the rear light glowing on the ground. All i can think is the rattle of going over the level crossings on the way to camber has shook something loose, will take a look today. Oh and the copper said i was probably doping myself a favor traveling a bit quicker than anyone else as with no rear lights i had lessened the chance of getting rear ended in the dark ............NOW THERES A FIRST!!!
