I went there last w/end - didn't see any potholes, police or pesty cyclists. It was FUN FUN FUN apart from the ache for grinning so much - Oh and chocolate cake is just a tad yummy:cake:.

Gonna bend the pad spring to firm it up a bit (it's nine years old) and smear a bit of copper grease on the back of the pads. I'm hoping that'll work

yeah i heard that copper grease on the back of the pad stops squeaky brakes but not sure how? Doesn't make much sense to me as that doesn't have contact with the disk?

Let me know if that works as interested...

I always put a tiny bit of copper grease on the back of the brake pads where the piston contacts it. Was a tip given to me when racing although to be honest, it's been so long that I can't remember the exact reasoning behind it lol. Then again, I've never had squeaky brakes so maybe it does work :)

The theory is that part of the pad vibrates noisily if it's not evenly gripped between the caliper and the disc. Copper grease supposedly dampens the vibration and therefore the noise. My calipers are pretty clean so this is a bit of a last resort

I have been given the green light for tomorrow but I do have to be back for tea and cake early afternoon so I may not make it quite to bury hill.
