well for what its worth and this may be the worms. at the end of the day if you dont do anything illegal then they wont bother you. we all know that you can only go 70mph, thats the top speed on any road unless otherwise stated. my bike does 80 in first when i can be bothered to ring its neck. the only time im under the speed limit (normally) is when im stopped or just starting to pull away apart from built up areas. in my line of work i always hear that all coppers are ba$tards and sometimes worse than that often being referred to as the big C. i know a few coppers and they are as nice as pie when not in uniform but once they don their hat they are doing their job. without them could you imagine the anarcy that would be running on the streets you only have to go back to the riots to see the nature of some of our citizens. yes you do get the jobsworth but ask yourself would you like to do their job? they are like every other public service undermanned and underfunded and the paperwork that they have to do is diabolical so thats probably why they turn a blind eye to certain things. last october i met a very nice traffic cop in his unmarked car travelling along the jubilee way i was going a bit quicker than i should of been and he told me not to speed in that area (POLEGATE) as thats where the traffic cops base is. if you get caught by a fixed camera and its in your local area then thats a tad silly as you know that its there and lets face it there are normally signs saying that theres a camera ahead. as for people taking these type of jobs cos they were bullied im not so sure about that. i was never bullied at school and ive been a civil servant for her majesty for 11 years.

anyone watch police interceptors?......recently saw an episode where a young copper pulled an elderly partially disabled lady as she flashed up on his ANPR as having no insurance , being only a short way from home she offered for him to follow him there where she could produce her certificate and she even recognised him as the son of a local bobby she new well.
turned out her insurance was for a fiesta and she was driving a focus and the registration was a digit out...nothing sinister just an error which was recognised as such by the insurance company and rectified immediately over the phone and witnessed by the young copper so no harm done youd think...but after drinking her tea and making merryment he proceeded to give her a ticket for 6 points and a £200 fine for no insurance claiming he had no choice ...erm i thought they had the ability to show descretion???...that my friends is a ( and i wont pull punchs ) a C*nt in action.....admittedly though its 1 case and i know many coppers that are decent blokoes

    Cheers Pete

There`s not many words in there but that one had to be I`m afraid. Yes, it gets used, even by me at times (in certain company) but I`m sure most of you will agree, its got no place on a public forum.

Nice story carnage, love those programmes especially when they show a great result after 8 coppers raid a house and walk away with a tiny quantity of drugs! Bit of a joke that really. Although They never do show the copper who has to tackle the drug crazed lunatic with a knife, or the copper who gets jabbed by a druggy and his hypodermic needle and then has to wait weeks to find out if they have any sort of infection, or the so called plastic PCSO who chases a criminal along a train track leading to a nasty scumbag being locked away....I could go on but do wonder why?

...there is much that is televised but then an awful lot more that isn't...good and bad, Ying and yang...
