    Hey all

Sadly I had a high side on Sunday morning at around 10am on black ice and sent my beautiful Suzuki tumbling down the A25 near Dorking. I was on my way to an annual winter run when it happened, meeting point was Newlands corner and I was only 3 miles from there when it happened.

Was doing around 25mph down a relatively straight road when I hit the ice, my Avon's simply had no chance and there was no way for me to hold her so over we went. Bike flipped twice and landed on my left leg both times, remember thinking at the time "how the feck can we flip twice and slide all that way doing a shitty 25mph". Lol, is amazing what goes through your head while in slow motion.

Anyways, bike is a mess but have'nt had a proper look at her yet as I have a broken left ankle and a badly bruised left shoulder / elbow, just thought I would let you all know.

If you are out on your machines please take it easy.

Still very stiff at the moment and in a temporary cast until Monday when I see the ortho, they are waiting for the swelling to reduce so that they can do a scan and decide treatment.

Very kind of you Alan but a long way to travel to see my ugly mug :).

Oh no ! Really sorry to hear about your off! Poor you and poor bike - gutted for you. Hopefully the ankle won't take too long to heal (should be sorted by the summer for sure!) and that the bike is repairable.
Keep us posted on how you get on.

Thank you all for your kindness. Bike damage is thankfully cosmetic, fairing and tail piece are broken, one broken footpeg, left engine cover badly scuffed and scuff on exhaust.

Fortunately the mushrooms did their job for the bike and I was in my full leathers and sidi vortice boots so my damage was limited to where the bike landed on my leg and where it hit me in the shoulder while sliding. My shoei did it's job too and although now unusable my noggin is still in one piece. :)

On the positive the fairing replacement will enable a color change and the "dark side" is looking attractive.

After seeing the state of the roads in your area Friday, I'm glad my baby is having it's birthday oil change and yearly tart.
Even in the van, water was up to the axles and I was dodging fallen trees.
Get well soon and spend your resting time planning summer getaway's.
