Ok, perhaps a little bit of a odd post but i wanted to know more about the types of clubs for bikers,

What is the difference between a MC, Mcc riding club etc etc etc, i get that back patch clubs are the die hard bikers (of whom i have alot of time for), but whats all this side patch and back patch with no top or bottom rocker malarky ? i haven't a foggiest so i figured who better to ask but a group of bikers :D :bike:

I dont know much about patches , but I think I am right that Support 81 (aka Hells Angels) operate a 3 patch back . so you would have Hells Angels or Support 81 logo . then a big centre *club* patch, then an area patch at bottom (or vice versa). I think Harley type clubs operate a 2 patch system .... ...

Don't get involved in anything to do with back patches, MCs and MCCs. A guy was seen at a bike meet wearing a back patch with " Sons of Arthritis" on it for a laugh. He got a right kicking off some patch club members!!!

what about the HOG's hardly the sort to give someone a kicking. There are too many different patch clubs to say they are all bad.
Many run meets for charity. The norseman or whatever they are called behind the chase the ace run. The ones who help out at brightonia.
Baca who protect kids suffering child abuse.

Yer some patch members used to carry out minor crime like running drugs and murder etc but they have now been replaced with much worse criminals like bankers and estate agents riding more expensive Harleys.

I do know some clubs have a big thing about others wearing sons of anarchy patches etc but to tar all patch guys with the same brush is like tarring all cruiser riders as chap wearing homos :ner:

You do what you want Tom, but I wouldn't advise anyone to wear back patches. You can play the odds if you want to, but one day someone, without warning, will give you a slap, or worse. Not the sort of thing I would advise new/young riders to do.
I might be a homo, but I would never wear chaps!!!

"minor crime like running drugs and murder etc" ???
I'm not saying that all patch clubs and MCs MCCs are like that, just some and some don't take kindly to other club's patches etc.

You dont want to get involved with any patch clubs.
Everything is very unstable right now anyway.

Wear a patch in Australia and you are considered one of the 4%ers and have the ability to be locked up until all 'claims' are investigated.

I grew up with "patch" clubs, was dragged along to all the bike rallies by my grandparents. all their friends were bikers so I used to spend a lot of my weekends either out with them at the local bike events, the local pub they all hung out at, watching the bands etc .. back then it was mostly like this forum really bunch of people who like bikes, talking crap and drinking beer having a good time... none of this "sons of anarchy" BS.... things are completely diff now. its all politics and bulls**t . most of the smaller clubs have become affiliates, mostly not of their volition, of either the angels or outlaws. Most of the people who were in clubs when I was growing up have ditched it all as they didn't want to be involved in the fallout that comes with the angels vs outlaws etc ... sadly I have seen first hand how serious things can get, and a few old friends have ended up in hospital as they were part of clubs that havnt paid "respect" to the angels. I also look after a computer for a friend of the family who is treasurer for an outlaw affiliated club, and I hear plenty of what goes on.... I keep my nose out of it to be honest , not worth the hassle.

Personally I`ve no interest in being part of that scene. One of Sue`s nephews is in a patched club, as was/is her brother (not sure on that as we don`t see him that often) & both bloody good blokes. As they`re family I can get away with saying stuff to them that I couldn`t to someone else wearing colours. If I see someone wearing a patch who I don`t already know, I don`t talk to them unless they talk to me first. If they do, then I treat them politely & with respect & everything is cool!

Saying that I've spoken to a few guys the norsemen are good guys and Ispoke to a guy from the vikings mc helped me sort leaflets out for my run for bella... so they not all bad yeah but seems a lot of taboo there around back patch clubs
