...................................in the shape of a Maclaren P1.

I regularly work at an industrial estate where there are bucket loads of Aston Martins and Maclaren MP4-12C's being prepped for their lucky new owners.

Today I heard something that was like the MP4-12C but with MUCH more bass and growl. I almost passed out when I saw it was a P1.

If you are a car fan then this is an incredible piece of kit. Built very much from current F1 technology. It has KERS, is a hybrid and a fully composite build.

    The stats are mental:
2.8sec 0-62 time and a 217mph top speed, the latter apparently being electronically limited.
    0-124mph takes 6.8sec, with a 16.5sec 0-186mph sprint.
9.8sec at 152mph quarter miles. A Bugatti Veyron is around 10.5sec at 140.2mph.

McLaren quote 194g/km of CO2 emissions and a combined 34mpg - 10mpg up on the McLaren 12C and on par with a Porsche Boxster 2.7.

It has a mid-mounted twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 engine to an electric motor for a combined total of 903bhp
    Approx 1400kg in weight.

    Priced at £866,000

Sorry about the reflection. I was too late to get photos with the doors open and the man from Maclaren didn't want me to take photos so I had to be sneaky when his back was turned!!!

This one was on its way to the Maclaren showroom in Knightsbridge and is one of the 375 customer cars that are being built.

I have to admit the photos do not do it justice. It looks utterly beautiful in the carbon. I love yellow so this would be the colour for me.

It looks very wide because it is so low so it just creates this illusion.

According to the specs it is only 85mm wider than a BMW 5 series.
