freshwater are easiest to keep and maintain , tropical are a little harder and sea water can be bloody hard work

btw freshwater doesn't just mean gold fish ....we have carp, fan tials and we also have a couple of large Plecs surviving in freshwater

    it is an ornament
keeping seahorses is specialised and quite difficult
andre bought his stuff from world of fishes east grinstead where i used to get my stuff from
salt water (nemo)setups are not cheap and the electric bill alone can be extortionate

I used to have a sea water tank, when i lived in singapore, with sea horses, polka dot garoupas, coral banded shrimp, clown fish, Lion fish, anemones....etc...

They aren't that hard to keep, once you get the mini Eco system running and the water and gravel systems matured....takes about a month...but for it to run effectively you need size.

Ph testing is done every week, and you also need a quarantine tank, to separate n treat fish or potentially any coral that's has a disease.

You will also need a heater, filter systems

Although its relatively easy, and there's more to the above....it is EXPENSIVE...but I could spend hours watching them.

I think basic fish, such as the clown fish in the uk are abut £10...

I would do some research first and to cost it all up, as something's are ongoing costs. Also think about if you go away...there are auto feeders, but again more cost.

cold water fish no problem , harder to kill them than keep them alive ! I looked in to hot water buisness ... it's all about the plants at first ! depending on the fish i think , you need various plants in the tank which gives out different CO435883 what ever the thingy is ( never listened in science class )

then there are testers , to test the water for all these emissions , and when it's correct, you may wack the fish in , but I believe it's a long process and the fish come last !( other wise you kill them on the spot )

( I hope this hasn't put you off getting a fish )

I remember a Cypriot friend who ran a fish and chip shop told me the secret to really crispy batter with the fish cooking by steaming within it is to dip the fish into sulphuric acid first. (I suppose that partly dries the outer surface of the fish and enables the batter to stick well). I pass this along just in case your early piscean experiments are not an unqualified success...

I believe there are screen saver programmes which can turn your computer screen into a fish tank - one of those might be less harmful to your bank balance!

Personally I like my fish as fresh as possible, preferably caught by myself.
If batter is required I will use Lemonade, Lager or Bitter instead of water when making it. :)

We bought my daughter a couple of goldfish a few years back...One died after a couple the months the other went on for ages until one evening he decided to commit suicide and jumped out of his bowl...Funny thing is the wife still put food in the bowl for it the next morning and didnt notice! It wasnt until she came home from work that evening that she spotted no food had gone but the fish was nowhere to be seen...I had to pull the cabinet that the bowl sat on out and find the poor bugger! :D

no Aqua One UFO 350 --I wanted a corner one and its probably for kids -- cos novelty will wear off lol .If they survive and i enjoy them/it --might go bigger but thats a time off yet .. wont decide till it gets here what fish i will put in it - like a goldfish type or something dead nice with a lovley swilrly tail -- or Angel fish and some seahorses lol .. full of ambition here -but not a clue heheheh. I had inteneded getting a lamp to put in the corner then came up with the idea of a fish tank -so tbh as long s it looks good and has a light -- I might not even put anything in it lol
