Hey! My new touring boots arrived today, bluudy quick as I only ordered Monday nite after a conversation with Mega.
Weiss, waterproofs, fit absolutely spot on and they feel lubberly, just in time for my Netherlands visit. Result!!
Now all I need is me reflective bits for the helmet in France, Frogs what are they like, numpties. All the the other restrictive bits now in suspension, alci tubes, reflective bits on clothes, speed warnings on sat nav.
Shame we can't bypass them. non expensively.

what do you mean bits for the helmet ?

you need reflective bit on the back , left and right side, if there is a problem show them the E sign in the helmet to show its to europeen standard ,

there was talks about more reflective bits for clothing helmets breathalisers blabla , but that went out the window when sarkozy left

What are the other items we have to pack, Luke? (Welcome to the Cool Side, by the way :)). If I take Pat's post at face value, some sort of restriction mechanism for the suspension (what?); 2 x alcohol testers - I can struggle into a reflective waistcoat and buy some sticky patches for my helmet (hope they dont harm the finish or wash off in the rain). It just seems to me to be another Happy Hunting Ground for Les Flics wishing to up their numbers this month and have a Jolly Jape nabbing those irritating 2-wheeled Rosbifs!

never heard anything about the suspension ?

the alcoholtests are definetley out ... Sarkozy wanted that, so the law never went official, i've never had any ... loads of people bought them but the law never happend...

there is nothing about reflective clothing either, just the 3 on the helmet europeen standard ,

I past my full test 2 weeks ago ... so i'm pretty sure of it ...

No no, the nutty laws to be suspended, or in suspension. They only one they can get picky on is the reflective tape on helmets, as said front, sides, back. $135 euro fine, a mate on the way to Spain got stopped last week by a brace of knickerbocker French plod and warned. You can't argue, just wee-wee and ride off slowly.
