Took the wheels off and removed the tyres, discs, bearings, hub carrier & sprocket etc (I'll remove all of the spokes next week). Removed the crash bars, grab rails, rear rack, sump guard & battery box cover. Assembled all of these parts (including my already removed pannier frames) into a neat pile to take to the powder coaters.

Chemically cleaned all removed parts / fixings, ABS sensor rings and rear sprocket. Oh and I tidied the garage. :)

Have you decided what you're doing with the ABS ring yet?

Yes, I've cleaned them right back to bright (ish) silver. I'll give them a light coat of lacquer to prevent them oxidising. They look pretty good TBH.

You tidied your garage in a day!!! I'm still doing mine after 3 days. Moved the Yamaha a coupla times and moved the bike ramp 8" nearer to the wall to give me more room. Still gotta connect the lathe up and test it. Got some racebike wheel spacers to make for a guy that is getting impatient. Been offered a 1325 , 15 to 1, big bore kit and a gas flowed cylinder head with massive high lift cams and Titanium valves for the GSX project. Just need to sell the kids and the wife to an arab now!!!

Oh you know me - my garage wasn't that untidy to start with! Sounds like yours is coming on well.

On another note, I need a little bit of welding doing (I want some small plates welding onto my crash bars; the same as Tunner has for his lights). Is this something that you can do before they're powder coated?

Chris - I need a couple of cables extending. I'll PM you both.

Looking at Chris's set up, welding brackets on shouldnt be a problem. If you make patterns of what you want, tape em securely to the bars in the correct position and then bring em down, I can maybe do em straight away if I have 2mm mild steel in stock? I usually use stainless.

I watched the warm, hypnotic, constant & green light of the Optimate for a while as it pumped energy & goodness into the little black box.

Tucked the track bike up under a duvet :giggle:. Then remembered I had added anti-freeze to it before the last lot of minus temperatures, but still, it looks all nice and cosy now. Need a better heater in garage before get to work on swapping R6 front discs and then seeing if can free the bobbins on the old ones.

They did have heaters in Lidl or Aldi that you connect to a gas bottle. A fan blows the heat around the garage.?
