Want to take the mount for my Carlo Scala headset off my helmet, it is currently glued on, will it be best to just rip it off or is there a better way as do not want to damage the helmet.

What did you glue it on with? If it's one of those sticky foam pads, then you could try warming it up with a hairdryer to soften the glue a bit before pulling it off. :)

use the cleaning product sporty washed his bike with, it removed his number plate and ate his shoes so will deal with some glue :D

Was the proper glue that came pre-applied on the mount...if it eats shoes I am not sure I want to use it on my lid!

If you carefully prise the headset off, it should be fine. Failing that, as Ducky says, try warming it. I've always found that a little lighter fluid on a cloth is a good way of removing glue residue (or if you prefer (believe it or not), use Duraglit polishing wads).

White spirit is also quite good for removing glues, I would warm it up as well it will help soften it up to pull it off
