Not bike related but it is mechanical...

My little diesel fiat panda is having problems, every so often when you start it the revs wont go over 3k, you can put your foot fully down and there is only the slightest response, after a while however it starts working normally again...just wondered if anyone had a clue what it could be so I have some idea when I take it to the garage and they try and tell me something ridiculous...

Probably from revving it over 3k when you start it ;)

Sounds like a clogged injector or suchlike. Try some red ex.

Give it a damm good thrashing, if you have been doing really short journey's in it, if that not work try thrashing it with a stick :)

Skortchio and MadProf are spot on. You should check the inline fuel filter(s) first and then mix in a generous dollop of RedEx with your next fillup (whole tank). There may be all sorts of rubbish which comes out of the back but as with so many things: better out than in!

*if im not mistaken all deisels have a fuel filter which requires changing at pre determined intervals , failure to do so will result in loss of power and eventually failure to start

Cheaper to run and insure than the bike! :D
