That would be a torx head  , if you're not using the correctly sized bit it's easy to chew them up.

Bu%%er me, if I haven't had three things to complain about in two days. It must be me.

First there was the bike insurance palava noted above. (And thanks everyone for your advice).

I took my mother in law to Gatwick this morning. She had booked on Easyjet. Journey over, no problem. Parking, no problem. Walking gently to the check-in desk, no problem.

Checking in? AAAAAAAAARRRRGGH! She needs 'Special Assistance', so where can this be found, please? The two sentences spouted by the bored and disinterested bint behind the desk were utterly unintelligible to me. Heaven knows how people get on if English isn't their first language, or they are old and infirm. Eventually I learned that the Sp Assistance desk is beside the toilets. (It's carefully labelled 'Cambio - Exchange', but that's another story). Then I said I'd better put her suitcase on the weighing belt. But you haven't pre-booked a suitcase, Madame. Had to pay £25 to get Easyjet to accept a tiny suitcase which almost went into the cabin baggage size checker (if I'd had my penknife to cut off the wheels it would have fitted). I thought a person is allowed one bag of between 10Kg and 20Kg free and after then you start to pay nasally. This was her only bag, I might add.

I consider the management of Easyjet to be greedy, grabbing, chiselling, thieving persons whose moral compass is so far away from civilisation that I hold them in complete disdain. I'd have said scumbags, but that might be offensive.

It worked on the other bolts so not sure why it didn't this time. Grrr... will let someone who knows what they're doing at it.

Just minor bits and pieces... in this case changing the heel plates. Now I have mismatched plates - the right one is done but not the left. Ho hum.

Thing 3. My next door neighbour is shortly to begin building a new house in his garden (using my building system - hooray!). He wishes to put PV panels on to his roof. He has learned that Planning require a separate application for this and he has been told it will be turned down. However, if he waits until he has built the house, completed the roof and taken down the scaffolding, then he doesn't have to make application and is free to put whatever he likes on the roof.Of course, he has to pay for the scaffolding to be re-erected and the tiles removed, but he can do what he likes once the house has been finished.

An additional small point: the official Energy rating of the house will be issued on the first completed specification, not the specification as it will be offered to the market, so will not include the PV. He only has to pay another £60 to have the certificate recalculated and re-issued!

Being of that Crusader-type inclination, he wrote to Planning and asked all this officially. Now he is meeting our local MP (who happens to be Minister for Housing) to complain at such a nonsense - what he has been told by the local council flies in the face of all that central government has been spouting since they got into power!

Richard, first one...its not just easyjet, (although baggage costs are detailed on their website when the tickets are booked) all budget airlines charge for everything and anything these days with a certain Irish one being the worst. The thing that annoys me with easyjet is that you do not get allocated seats and yet their checking in system is set up for it! But at the right time of year they can be cheap.

PV panels...we have just done the lightning protection on a guys house with the barns to come next. The barns are being converted to have all sorts of heating and electronic gizmos for when his horses take up residency in said barns. This guy has millions and yet managed to obtain a 6 figure grant for his PV panels only to later be refused planning permission for them!

firstly finding a nail in my rear tyre on the R6 :( not good as the hornet tyres need replacing anyway so that could be a couple of sets now

Secondly the fun has now begun on the car insurance, They make a massively low offer for the car saying it's a total loss. The repair bill is £2351.00 which is on the high side but they then offer me £1500.00 for the car and they have based that on looking at atuo trader, so i did the same search with the guy still on the phone and the only 2 comparable cars are both over £2600.00 so just to piss them off i have said i now want the car repaired :D That will be fun and games now because they have to strip the car to make sure the estimate covered all the parts, then make sure they can get them all in a resonable timescale before going ahead. Whats more annoying is the assesor was looking at the previous generation model and even having gone out to see my car and it being his profession couldn't tell the difference between the two . Fear not thou for i shall be victorious :D The claim shall now include all extra costs that i may suffer on all my other insurance policies :D

Waiting (semi) patiently, all day for the sympathetically named 'tissue' nurse to attend my bedside and see if I'm viable for a vacum treatment to close the 130x90mm hole in my abdomen, where the stitches pulled.
Only for her to just not be able to fulfil her job description and actually attend to do the assessment, it must be a challenging life when you can't quite endeavour to meet your vocational requirements before 4:15pm when you finish each day.

Still, not like I'm stuck immobile with a massive gaping wound or anything.
