Isn't it like women? You know...those we think we can't stand are really the most suited to us? One screamed :( passed here earlier, rider was all knees & elbows & looked strangely err...familiar??;)

Sorry old chap but in all the motorcycling history books i have there isn't anything about snot pumps in them at all.....far from it.....
And they are actually, piles of metallic :poop: .
I owned one back in the 70s, ( Yes, like really friggin' embarrassed, Didn't wear a parka though, wasn't enough time for that anyway..... :giggle: )
I was in between bikes at the time and needed a run around, and it was what I thought , would do as wheels just for a while......I was offered this 175 lambretta for a good price on the friday eve, got it insured sat morning as it was Motted and taxed anyway, and proceeded to ride it.....:nah:
How fucking horrible! to say the least, Not to clever to kick start, shitty lights, an awkward bastard of a thing to change gear and clutch as its all on the clutch anyway and those bloody stupid running boards and silly little wheels. I was mobile for about ten minutes and that was enough, must have fell off at least as many times because of the damn boards scraping and lifting the wheels. So I went back to a friends dad and got another Fanny Bee, ( Francis Barnet, A bit like a BSA bantam) The Snot pump got dumped in the back garden, until a mate brought it off me 6 or so months later for the same amount I paid for it, so the only result i got out of it was the money I paid for it in the first place.:)
Hence I reckon they're such a lot of crap.
I'm ceratainly not proud of owning such a bastard of a thing at all....hated them ever since. As you see, I have my reasons.......
    You closet Mod........

I bet most vehicles that came out of the 60's have similar stories (when looked back upon) about being crap! The so called doing up of scooters has been carried on to present times and will continue....Custom cars in the 70's - all that fur, jacked up back ends, loud exhausts etc Motorbikes - loud exhausts, changing sprokets, coulour schemes, sports bikes being turned in to 'street fighter' things and so it will it continue...

Like marmite, love it or hate it! Each to their own. Persoanally i would a classic scooter but not with all the mirrors or lights. Just a standard classic. :)

To me there as entertaining and interesting to look at as most classic or customised bikes or cars. I see a style and sometimes humour, but id be bored after seeing more than 25 of them but show me bikes n cars all day, well 1/2 a day anyway.. :chppr::vesp:

While we encrouch on the subject of Mod music.....like the Who......
    thought this would amuse.....

Good thing Pete Townsend didn't get a say in The Who's film, cos he wanted to call it "Quadrophilia" which as we all know, is four kids at the same time...

    'Second-hand smoke kills 600,000 a year' - WHO study.
Silly idea using iconic rock bands to investigate.
Only Roger Daltrey took it seriously. Keith Moon and John Entwistle are dead, and Pete Townsend kept being distracted by looking at other stuff on the net 'out of curiosity'. :giggle:
