Why is it that when I post on a thread it disappears from the updated thread list?

You can't see it on the new posts list, but everyone else can. When someone replies, then you can see it on the New Posts list. I think;)

I only saw your reply when I got emailed and it showed on my "Alerts".

Alan is correct. When you reply to a thread, you won`t see that you`ve posted it in the alerts but others who are watching the thread will, thats assuming you are watching the thread. Why would the software show the person who made a post that they had made a post? ;) It should show when someone replies to a thread you have posted in.

New alerts won`t show up unless you refresh the page or click a button which causes a refresh anyway.

Got to the Alert Preferences & check to see if all the boxes are ticked as below.

When replying to a post, click the "more options" button to the right of the "Post reply" button & make sure "Watch this thread" is ticked. This *should* be enabled automatically but it doesn`t hurt to check.
