Hubby got a quote for his renewal for his bike insurance and it's gone up £2000!!!! So that will be a total of £2800 for his insurance!! That means almost half the value of his bike.

He's had insurance for 2 years, but bike was stolen in July, 2011 and that is why they say the insurance is going up due to his one claim.

So frustrating, specially as we know that MCE is the cheapest one out....

There's no way a single claim should load your insurance that high. I'd be shopping around right away.
That said, I rarely stay with an insurer 2 years running as the introductory rates are generally better from competitors anyway.

I sympathise more than you can imagine, having spent most of my adult life with the inability to hear words if spoken in an open office or cocktail party ie. with background noise. I have particularly acute hearing, apparently, for little details, nuances and tiny sounds if there is no background noise. Given that I was something between a Rain-maker and a relationship manager in investment banking, and attended lots and lots of cocktail parties (if I wasn't in a noisy dealing room), that was a bit of a handicap!

As the decades have accumulated, I have discovered this brings a secret source of intense amusement, however: I often mis-hear what people say to me, with hilarious consequences - variations of the old, "Send three and four pence - we're going to a dance" theme. So if you are ever saying something to me and I burst out laughing at an inappropriate juncture, that's probably the reason. It's also a perfect excuse to hear what I want to hear. Or so I have been told...

Really, really sorry.... i didn't know you had to suffer going to Manchester. Without wanting to generalise to much , but they all cry up there coz the sun never shines, its cold and it rains all the time.
