Has anyone had any experience or owned one of these? I'm seriously close to buying one as a track day weapon, I know it'll suffer on long straights but for smaller circuits it should be ok?

It'll do more than fine on the straights fella, assuming the power is up to spec. Longest straight in the country is Snetterton and you won't top out a Gixxer 4 on that
It will need more finesse than a 6 but take it as a plus when you smoke 'em! ;)

Only concern you will have is that the newest of the 400's is about 20years old now, sourcing parts can be tricky and you might be spending a lot of time turning wrenches, but as a track day toy you have plenty of time between.

The plus side is the engines are tough as boots!

Cheers mate, I want to spend this year learning tracks and track riding on the 400 and then next year I'll go for a 600 or more. Shame I'm working on the 28th :-(

To be honest fella, if you learn to ride a 4 well you won't need a 6.

Power is just a substitute for skill and knowledge.
If you need a hand with any of it, just ask :)
