Oh then, here are a few pics of the progress so far. To date, I've sourced some tatty panels and a replacement tank from eBay - all of which needed some form of repair (dent in tank, scraped / broken panels etc). I don't want grab rails, so have removed them and fibre-glass & filler'ed the holes. Only a quick first-coat done on a few panels, so a lot of work still to go.

Shurrup you. Actually I surprised myself about his Repsol 'Blade. Although I'd still never own a race rep myself, his one looks like a good 'un.

You are removing the wheel bearings aren't you?????
Hope so, Or you have the risk of the grease seeping out with the heat, the ovens get bloody hot! Have to to be obviously to cure the paint.
If they are blasting them are they degreasing beforehand?
Daft question but you'd be surprised........ I've known some right plebs in the paint game......

Hmmm - I dunno about the degreasing bit. I'll have to check, thanks. I've already bought new wheel bearings, so will knock out the old when I whip the wheels off (and fit the new bearings when they're back from the powder coaters).

Also , remind them to mask the sealing faces where the disc carriers bolt to, if they forget it's a lot of work for you!!!

Yes, they told me to do that in advance. I certainly don't want to be scraping unwanted paint out of some awkward areas.

A good powdercoater should know what he's painting and should be willing to do all the masking. If the don't/won't ; walk away and find another one.

Damn! Too late now - would have been handy. Is it a set for E1 / E2 (twin headlight)?

    Today's efforts...

Most bits 2nd coated. Plus a few bits of satin black to break things up a little:

Thanks. I'll give them a call, but they're quite a way off from me.

Just go on yell.com , search Powder coaters for your area?

That's how I came across these guys in Gravesend (well, via Google). I'll have a chat with them again this week to ensure that they've covered all of the issues raised here. Thanks to everyone for the advice :).

i think there is a bloke on here ( Barry ) would might be worth a chat as he has had some powered coating done and didn't need to remove / replace bearings etc plus he could name the place he used.

saying that Dave aka Skortchio had his stabilisers coated and he is only across the river from you so may have someone more local

Those bearings aren't going to last long if they were left in when they went to the powder coater! The stuff they blast with prior to coating gets everywhere; no matter how good you think you'be masked stuff up it WILL get in there!
I have used Lepson's in Gillingham and BP Coatings in Newington for powder coating before. Results were good from both.
