My son Ashley and his freind Louis plan to see the new year in at the top of Ben Nevis( darft beggers thought you only went up mountains to admire the view, no view at midnight, perhaps just me being old fart lol). They are hoping to get sponsers to donate to charity. Chosen charity is HELP THE HEROES, if you wish to donate please logon to www.bmycharity.com/LouisPilch Unless you are feeling really generous delete £25 and enter the amount you want to give, whatever amount will be much appretiated.

    Many thanks

Despite absolutly atrocious weather Ashley and his freind Louis got to top of Ben Nevis to see New Year in. Their plan was to go up south side and camp about three parts of the way up go to summit then back to camp to wait for daylight then back down. But having tried to put up tent in gale force winds, they lost tent. If you want free tent one flapping around in Scottish highlands somewhere. So no choice but hump all gear to summit. Got to summit shelter very cold, very wet. Spent night in shelter no sleep cos cold and wet. Next morn made way down tourist route in blizzard. Unfortunatly tourist route ended six miles from where car parked so Ashley thumbed it to car. The guy who gave him lift was going up Ben Nevis that day and was intriuged by Ashley`s phone GPS having shown him the route they took the guy said if they had verd off by four yards at one point it is 200 ft straight down. So far they have raised over £600 for Help The Heroes. Donation sight is still open so if you feel up to chucking them a couple of quid much appretiated. www.bmycharity.com/LouisPilch
