Just so we get some balance in the forum. ;)

What do you love about biking?

    For me:
    - Freedom (#1 for sure)
    - The attainment of flow http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology), and being very present in my surroundings when I'm riding
    - So much cheaper than taking the train :D

That's just the tip of the iceberg really.

    For me its the following

    1. Damned sight cheaper than running my last car.
    2. Being able to cut down on journey times due to be able to filter & zip past cars easier than in a car
    3. Meeting like minded people to ride & talk to.

    For me:

    1. That I can go fast and feel the wind in the face.
    2. Travel unhindered through all these great countries.
    3. That I have a biker husband and we go do something we love together on our own bikes.
    4. That I can do track days and not have to be semi-pro!
    5. Same as Roadwart's number 3 - always makes it better.

    - Doing something I've always wanted to do since I was a kid but not in a position to until my late twenties
    - Freedom, the experience on the bike, those rides where everything really connects and you just want to hug the bike as you ride it (which given my size I sometimes feel, and look, like I am doing)
    - Exploring the country, and other countries
    - Other bikers... 'nuff said ;)

Riding a motorcycle can make you feel joyous, powerful, peaceful, frightened, vulnerable, and back out to happy again, perhaps in the same ten miles. It is life compressed, its own answer to the question "Why?"

Who says Bikers can't be a spiritual bunch.

For me it has to be Heading out it no particular direction to no particular destination for no particular reason (I'll get a better dictionary next time) because you just love it.

Life's to much about reason these days, getting on the motorbike is an escape away from everything
