The lengths people will go to, to save face.

The first car I went to look at, whom the seller dicked me about deciding not to sell, after I agreed on his minimum price of £1550.
Txt me yesterday to say I could have it for £1300 - no reason or explanation why he suddenly was willing to drop the price by £250 of what I'd already agreed too.

I told him I was looking at a car tomorrow so would decide after that. Just now he txt's to say it's sold for £1850...
I pointed out he did well to get more than the asking price, his retort "I had it listed on a classics site for £2k"

    So lets get this straight:

Advertised on eBay with a £1700 buyout (didn't sell, bids under £800)
    Advertised on Gumtree at £1800
Not listed on any other site I could find (looking for a car I happened to check all of them)
Wouldn't budge on £1550 to me
Then changed his mind and dropped to £1300

Now just sold for £1850 - why don't I believe him?

Meh, I've got a car now anyway - a better car!

Looks neat. That'll be your arse on the floor?;). BTW Jeff's insurers (AXA, for his 750 gixxer) have decided to pay out after a bit of a wrangle as he hadn't told them of his HGV prang on a commercial policy. I'm gobsmacked...but pleased of course, so sorry mate no Winter project for you just yet.:)
