Had to do around 100 miles of riding today for work with visits in Seaford, Newhaven, Lewes and Ringmer. Not only was the :sun1: shining but the riding was fun and to top it off - I get my mileage paid :D

I am not sure whether this should have gone in the p!ssed off thread but I have put it here because of the final outcome

House insurance. Not normally something that makes me leap with joy but direct line decided to hump me to the tune of £442

Went online as a new business and direct line quoted me £287!!! Rung them up and they virtually matched it to £295 so rather than fanny around setting up a new policy I went with it.

Why on earth can they not just do this in the first place rather than try and roger you for the "undiscounted" price????? Thoroughly annoying that you have to make these annual calls but there we go, all part of the big annual insurance company scam game I guess.

We had this sort of thread once before re vehicle insurance when it was certainly a case of them trying to scam us. No such thing as customer loyalty discount, the opposite applied & they treat us as idiots relying on us renewing with no question. Seemed like economic suicide to me.

My wife's bike insurance renewal came in at £126 we told them we had another quote for £75 and they matched it and lowered the excess, £51 is allot when you look at the total cost of the insurance.

    Two things!

    Thing One:
Being able to walk / stagger down to the local cricket pitch this morning and throw a ring for my little dog to chase. I have been subjected to daily reproachful and meaningful looks from said doggy whose daily couple of miles have not been possible since my unplanned flying lesson last Saturday. It helped that the sun was shining, the ground was dry and the pitches were not actually being used for their intended purpose. Ok, I couldn't throw properly, it hurt like mad, but I'm glad I did it and I hope it will aid my recovery.

    Thing Two:
Receiving lunchtime visitation from Roadwart and Shrimpee bearing Get Well card and gifts, (edible, drinkable and readable). What more can a chap ask for? :eat::eat2::pizza:. The items had been chosen with extraordinary insight, too. I'm ...very happy!:ghug:

1st - Panel man is on the mend and his pouch got a good run around the sun - just hope it didn't make you bend to many times poopy scooping, though in my opinion seeing the fielders sliding through dog poop would make the game far more fun to watch :poop::giggle:.
2nd - bought a new toy today. I just thought I'd go for a test ride on such a nice day and on my return all sanity left me and the next thing I knew I was handing over my flexible friend paying a deposit and asking when I could collect the thing. Now I must sort out buying covers, locks, chains, crash bungs, levers etc etc - why did I??? I am soo weak willed :D:cool::D MyToy.jpg

Finally my vegetarian ex wife is letting my four year old daughter eat meat rather than the bloody over priced and bland veggy alternatives. She has never had any meat in her diet at all

It was awesome watching her tuck in to my home made cannelloni last night and then today at one of her friends birthday parties, for the first time being able to join the others and eat the same party food. She thinks chicken nuggets and fish fingers are ace!!
