    If you had a choice, the dosh, the space to house, to choose two bikes.!!
    One for touring and one for blatting/general riding, without the need to commute.
    Which current models would you choose?

    By touring, I mean large two-up comfort and decent luggage carrying capacity, fuel economy.
    Blatting, I mean weekend ride-out, A & B road ability, knee down(only when it's safe, ossifer) ability and fun/grin attitude, doesn't have to be too comfortable. AND road legal with silencers and tarting add-ons.

    Money no object to buy two new bikes, I'd buy half a dozen older ones instead!
    Practical bike: BMW RT of GS (plus stepladder), or maybe a VFR1200.
    Fun bike: Ducati Monster, KTM Duke or a classic like a Mk1 or 2 Le Mans.
    See, can't do just two!

    Practical: HORNET!!! (miss him)
    Fun bike: R6 or CBR600F (if guts to have a sports bike not a sports tourer!)

    Practical = staying with my KTM, or maybe the new 1190 version

    vs

    Impractical = Ducati 1199 Panigale

    I love my R6 for the blat but am looking for a more commuter/touring friendly second bike. So far quite like the ER6N, the Z750 (if found a lowered one!) and a Suzuki GSF650. Ho hum, decisions, decisions.
    If I could afford it I would also be happy to have a 675r :D

    For touring would have to be a BMW of some sort, maybe the K1300s
    For fun even though would leave me sterile after 50 miles :red: would be the Ducati 1199 Panigale

    Still love my R6 though :disco:
    Si.

    Asper your definition :
    Touring = BMW K1600 GTL
    Blatting = Daytona 675 or MV F3

    For a full on tourer I`d go with Hoppie & opt for the BMW K1600GTL.

    I`m not really into blatting as per your definition & so would be perfectly happy to stick with my current bike.
