    Strange question guys.

    Initially hubby and I were thinking we'd just take our helmets on carry on baggage on the plane as we didn't want to chance it going into check in luggage. We've just read up on carry on size and it's 2cm too wide! Do you reckon they'd just let us take it? Hubby got this big freak out that it might be a prohibited item for a plane! LOL

    If we do it as check in, how could you box up the helmets so that it won't be destroyed by the baggage handlers? Don't want to ship it as we want to buy a bike asap on arrival.

    HELP!!! LOL :ftic::ftic::ftic::ftic:

    Not so strange a Q. :)

    Whilst unemployed earlier this year and claiming JSA i rode the bike to see the people handling that stuff for me, walked in and was asked by 'the bouncer' on the door (they have bouncers on the door at the dole office these days) to hand him my crash helmet for safe keeping. I wasnt wearing it at the time so I asked him why. He said it was policy, it could be used as a weapon. I had a bag with me full of paper, nat ins number, proof of I.D in triplicate, passport, blah blah that he wasnt interested in, i said 'i could have a weapon in here :tbomb:'. He looked quite cross but just said, ''you cant come in with the crash helmet''.. WTF.

    My advice would be to check to be sure. Seemingly some places wont even let you enter carying one :think1:

    Maybe someone has a box that a helmet came in? They seem good enough for the manufacturers to ship them in...

    Hey Sporty, It's illegal in Australia to wear the helmet in service stations or any other venue. Apparently they can't get a proper security photo if you are wearing your helmet! LOL

    Yup.... Tesco's manager in Hailsham asked me to take my 1/2 face off once. I asked him if i was wearing a turban and sunglasses would he would take a similar position. The resulting conversation wasn't pretty but i walked away leaving all my shopping in the basket on the floor. Had to travel an extra 14 miles to get the shopping i wanted. That'l teach em. :D

    Ah Sporty,
    You didn't have the right gear you see. You got to be carrying a can of Special Brew to be welcome there!
