Auto choke won't drain your battery dude, the lights should be on a delay circuit so that only the sidelights come on when you turn the ignition and the main beams come on when the engine starts, although that said the Striple just puts the main beams on right away.

If you haven't started / ridden it since the snow then it's probably just bastid cold, other solutions are either unplugging the lights on the back of the housing (the squarish block connector), removing the fuse. Or the route I took fitting a larger capacity battery (same dimentions and roughly same price), the standard Sprint battery, like the Triple is a YTX9 by moving up to a YTX14 you gain nearly twice the CCA (what the bike needs to fire the engine up) making life a lot easier.
Should you have an alarm fitted it's definitely worth the swap.

Do you use the throttle at all when starting or just let the engine turn over? Often im tempted to turn the throttle a little which never works well and usually hinders starting. I do know better but forget.

I believe the general rule with electronic ignition & autochoke is start with no throttle. If I try to start mine with throttle, it just kicks back against the starter.

I've managed to seriously bugger up my knee again... limping is not a good look. Nor is it conducive to going to the gym tonight. Bugger.

Hasting bloody council! Or, more accurately - ticket wardens!
You'd think that the blue badge in the front of the car, the service call sticker (with a lil 'ol disabled man on it) in the windscreen and the hoofing great hand control leaver on the steering column would suggest the user may, just may, have a disability and is immune from the petty minded, borderline braindead, bored senseless enough to slap tickets willynilly on any and all cars along a stretch of road regardless of validity, piece of scum parking wardens.

But no. I return from a tasty Turkish (meal) and a plassable coffee (go to Costa, Nero's just isn't the same) to find I'm being fined £50 for parking exactly where I'm entitled to!
Luckily, I have more time than money and have donned my armour in preparation for the war that is about to ensure upon Hastings council.

That stinks Dave... I have an inkling that if you mention the word ''Press'' to the council, the issue will go away very speedily.. :D

Didn't even get out the house today (bar 10mins while I measured up for the seat frames on the Mini) waiting for a re-delivery from Monday, wasn't expecting one so somewhat curious.
Just after 4pm it arrives, the parcel that was orignially delivered on Saturday and refused to be returned. Seems the local post office got a bit muddled and tried to deliver it all over again, twice.

I think I maybe the oldest here ? but anyway , have come back from holiday and have all mi friggin pension stuff to sign and sort. I rung them and siad I do NOT understand a single thing of the bloody great wad of papers - can they just send me a form and I will just have the lump sum. Now I have another bloody great wad of papers (NOT in Lay terms) and am sooo totally confused grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. (This is for a Private pension ) plus I have had a bloody great WAD come from the NHS for the one I have with them now - so double confusion. And they want original papers - as in my Decree Absolute - and date of divorce (over 20 years ago) and I would swear i never even had that - never been a concern cos wont ever be re marrying. My Divorce solicitors are no longer trading and no idea what court the divorce was in :-( On the bright side - I now have my very own IFA < (posh now lol) but he cant do a lot until I have done the basic ground work :-(
