Have decided that I am going to hit the CC and buy a new exhaust can as I don't really like the one the bike has at the moment (Scorpion titanium) After a lot of umming and aahing I have settled on an MTC exhaust; had one before on my Ninja and the quality and price were superb.

    That's where the problems start...

The bike is dark blue and black, so I go with a black can or an S/S can? I think the black would look better but it would probable 'blend-in' with the bike too much. Round, oval, or tri-oval shape? Single outlet, twin outlet? Race can or road legal. Don't want a motoGP can really; whilst I do like the look of them they'd probably be a bit too loud.

    Any views???

Stainless steel oval suits the K5 the best  not too stubby

Don't like the stubbies either; to me they shout 'Hey copper, pull me!!!'

These ones are 380 mm long rather than 450. But they will make one to any length I decide.. wouldn't have one shorter than 300mm.

By black, do you mean carbon? Carbon cans have a slightly different note (due to the fibrous nature of carbon) but as you won't be comparing them side by side ever it's a minor point.

I'd got with a road legal (the baffle is removable for more noise) oval carbon dome end cap on a titanium (posh) or stainless (easy to clean) can.
But that might be because it's basicly what I'm running already

Always helps if someone has something they can recommend

I don't like carbon exhausts as they can fade and split over time. The black ones they do are powdercoated S/S.

I think I'd go for SS finish, have a feeling the powder coat finish would look rough after a while.

Single Outlet Tri-Oval Yoshi FTW! ;)

You could be right there... maybe SS is the way to go then.

HMM I was looking at a black can from Beowulf they were rather tasty but I settled for a stainless oval stubby from Scorpion and am well pleased, SS is fairly classic although I would have gone for the SS with a carbon end cap if I could have afforded it.

This is what I went for in the end.....

    mtc-oval.jpg

Ordered online direct from MTC themselves; using a code from their FB page, I got 10% off!!!! :bounce:

Was told it would be here for the weekend.
